The December 2023 release of Alinity was deployed to Test environments on December 13th and was deployed to Production environments on December 18th. A summary of the changes included in this release appear below.

New Features
Consultations | Admin
Consultations is a new module that is still under development and is designed to provide management and recording of practice consultant support requests. This initial release provides basic functionality allowing consultations to be created and managed with support for both a description of the request that was made and an optional summary of the consultation. Additionally text notes can be added to individual consultations and the feature supports custom fields. Future releases will introduce time tracking, uploading documents and task support.
“Has Active Account” Query | Admin
In December, we introduced a new query that you can find on the person page under the Data Quality section. The Has Active Account query will return all members in your system who have an active account that is counting towards your subscription total. The members returned could be in a variety of registers, but the common denominator is that they have the ability to login to your system. This could be a useful query in addition to the “No Recent Login” query for any profile cleanup you may wish to do.
Feature Improvements
“Admin Review Required” widget sorting change | Admin
On the dashboard Admin Review Required widget, the results are now sorted by the creation time of the member’s form, rather than their last update time. This allows admins to prioritize members on a first-come-first-served basis and minimize the wait time for most members.
Stronger email rules in Test | Admin
In the Test environment, the system will now enforce that email addresses can only be specified if they are in the @mailinator.com domain, the @softworks.ca domain, or your own email domain based on your administrator email setup. See the “Administrator email” config option in Setup > Configuration Parameters to control this setting.
Person details credential list improvement | Admin
In person details, on the credential list, the Institution column will now have a link to navigate to the organization details and if one is specified will display the country of the organization below the link if it is not the system’s default country.
Renewal extension time for registered corps | Admin
Organizations that are registered corporations can now be modified and have a renewal extension time set in the same way it can be set for registrants on person details.
Search functionality to credentials setup | Admin
The credentials setup screen has been updated to support searching to allow admins to better find existing credentials.
Support to load invoice templates from using the new template model | Admin
When creating an invoice, the copy from template function now supports the new invoice template model, in addition to the old model. The ability to add invoice templates to the old model has been removed. Migration of the templates from the old model to the new model will occur in a future release.
Bug Fixes
Disabled smart groups left unmodified | Admin
Previously, disabled smart groups were updating their qualifying people even though the group wasn’t being used. We made an adjustment so that smart groups will no longer attempt to update their list of qualifying people until the group is re-enabled.
Registration change admin comments | Reviewer
This month we fixed an issue where admins could not leave comments on reviewer forms for registration changes.
Inactive city appearing when adding an address | Admin
On the initial creation of an address, inactive cities were selectable from the auto complete, which caused an error. Inactive cities are now filtered from the list.

The January 2024 release of Alinity is scheduled for deployment to production sites January 18th.
