The February 2023 release of Alinity was deployed to Test environments on February 9th and Production environments on February 16th. A summary of the changes included in this release appear below.
Alinity is Moving to Microsoft Azure – Almost There!
If you have been following our monthly blog posts, you will have seen our announcements about migrating Alinity to a new hosting platform. The new platform is Microsoft Azure© and we have been working with it in our development environment for all of 2022. We are excited about how well it is performing and the new features it will allow us to create in Alinity. We have decided to postpone our move to Azure until 2023 in order to allow renewal periods that are currently in progress, to be completed without interruption. Migration to Azure will begin on Test environments in the first quarter of 2023 and then for production systems starting in the second quarter. We will continue to upgrade Alinity with bug fixes and new features each month while the transition is moving forward.

| Search pages such as Person, Org and Registrations have been updated with a new feature that allows you to modify the criteria of your current query to allow you to avoid having to find the query again and re-enter all the criteria just to change one of two of them. In the area that shows the summary of the query criteria and results, just above the grid, on the right hand side next to the refresh and export buttons you will now find an edit button on supported screens. This button will be enabled when the current query is one that has a form to enter criteria and when clicked will allow you to change the criteria and then run the search again. | ||

| A new list has been added to the contacts tab on the Org details screen. This list will appear for organizations that provide credentials and will list all the members and their credentials for that organization. Filtering and basic text searching are also included. | ||

| The way in which emails are queued and sent has been modified to allow for better responsiveness on higher priority emails. In the past an email would be selected by priority, for instance a password change request is higher priority than a bulk email, but once selected that email would be processed until all recipients had been sent an email. Now the email system will temporarily suspend sending for an email if one with a higher priority appears in the queue and will resume once all higher priority emails are completed. | ||

| When looking at any member’s record the initial summary tab is required to load a large amount of details about a member. The logic handling that selection has been rewritten and will now load in up to half the time as previously. This will be most noticeable with larger systems. | ||

| In certain rare cases the number of emails shown by the filters on the search screen would not match the number of results the query returned. These results were emails cancelled due to errors and they are now shown properly. The filters were also updated to simplify this search by keeping the most used filters and combining the least used. | ||

| For Alinity installations using multiple registers the employment tab on a member’s details would show the employment records multiple times. This has been corrected. | ||

| When queueing an email to send in the future the time zone of the site was incorrectly applied causing the email to start sending earlier or later than expected. The configured time zone is now applied to the scheduled time properly. | ||
| On the details for an offline exam the list of offerings was sorted incorrectly when first loaded, this list will now sort by date descending on first load. | ||
| On the correspondence tab of a member’s profile, the email confirmation time display did not take into account the timezone. This display will now calculate and adjust according to the timezone offset setting in other configuration parameters. | ||
