The July 2021 release of Alinity was deployed to Test environments on July 8th and Production environments on July 15th. A summary of the changes included in this release appear below.

| This update allows a new feature to be enabled that provides members with a “My emails” area of the member portal. This allows members to view all the emails that have been sent to them through Alinity in addition to seeing the sent and opened times. | ||

| This new feature allows admins to set tax exemptions for organizations and people, these exemptions are set through the invoice tab on the detail screen for that record. When an exemption is on new invoices that are created for those records will have the exemptions turned on by default as well although they can be turned off manually on the invoice if required. | ||

| A new grant has been added to provide additional granularity in assigning permissions to users. To access the invoices and payments for members users will now require either Member Financials, Accounting Administrator or System Administrator with the latter two providing additional access in the system. This grant supports hiring of temporary staff during surges by allowing them to access the admin module as a base administrator but prevents them from viewing financial details. NOTE all existing systems will have this grant added to active base administrators as part of the migration during deployment so that no work needs to be done to keep access as is for current admins. | ||

| The custom field feature has now been extended to work with organization records. These fields allow the collection of data specific to your installation that isn’t generally collected by Alinity. By default custom fields are turned off to avoid introducing clutter on the interface, to turn this on please contact the help desk. | ||

| A new widget is available for use on the admin dashboard that provides a count of members by registry. This can be used to see a general overview of member distribution in the system. | ||
| Enhanced Clarity for User Grants | Feature Update | Admin |
| Managing permissions for a user has been updated to provide additional clarity around the use of the System Administrator grant. System Administrators are granted full access to the system therefore other grants aren’t required for them, the UI will now disable and clear the other grants when the System Administrator grant is selected to reflect this. The one exception is that the “base” module grants are required to access the various modules in the system so these are turned on by default for you with System Administrators now. | ||
| Auto-Terminate Supervisor Records | Feature Update | Admin |
| When a registration is ended for a member, the system can automatically terminate any associated employment records. Enabling this action is available as a configuration option. This feature has been extended so that when the employment records are terminated, the expiry date is also set on Supervisor records related to that employment. This release does not, however, automatically terminate Supervisor records when individual employment records are expired by members during profile updates. That option is being added in a later release. | ||

| Submission fees for members can now be applied to registration changes. These fees are configured in the admin portal similarly to other registration fees such as with applications. | ||

| The bug fixes were highly technical in nature this time around and while interesting to us are probably somewhat boring outside of the development team. For this release we implemented well over a half dozen fixes comprising typos, UI refinements and several performance improvements. | ||
Next release
The August 2021 release of Alinity is scheduled for deployment to production sites August 19th.
