Latest Updates – New visual cues for invoices and enhanced invoice queries

This week’s updates:

  • New visual cues for invoices
  • Administrator-created applications and reinstatements
  • Complete unlocking of renewal forms
  • Enhanced invoice queries
  • New video! Refunding Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD) payments
  • Bug Fixes and performance enhancements

The latest version of Alinity is continually being improved, with new updates released regularly. Performance and security updates are included in virtually every release, alongside new features to help improve member experience, administrative efficiency and streamline workflows. Here are a few of the most significant changes implemented in our latest update package.

New visual cues for invoices

This week’s crop of updates starts off by following up on one of the updates from last week, this time bringing visual cues to invoices instead of payments. In the context of invoices, struck-through entries are cancelled invoices, while underpaid invoices appear in red and overpaid invoices appear in orange, making it easier for staff to identify invoices with payments that need to be investigated at a glance.

Administrator-created applications and reinstatements

Alinity has allowed administrators to create renewals in advance for a long time now, and many of our clients use this feature to create special or adjusted invoices for some members. Then we thought, hey, why not expand that feature to include applications and reinstatements? So that’s exactly what we did. Now rather than relying exclusively on members to initiate them, administrators can create new applications and reinstatement directly from the person details.

Complete unlocking of renewal forms

This week’s update also makes a minor change to the behaviour of renewal forms when they’re returned to members for updates. It used to be that when you sent a renewal back to a registrant, only the portion of the form affected by the required update would be unlocked for editing. So if a change needed to be made to the profile update portion of the renewal, for example, then only that section would be available to the member for editing. However, because different sections of the form may rely on each other, we thought it would be prudent to unlock the entire form for resubmission. Now registrants can get at all the areas of a returned renewal form before sending it back.

Enhanced invoice queries

Queries and invoices are both pretty central to regulatory authority workflows, so it made sense to enhance the set of queries available for invoices. The latest update makes it much easier for staff to find sets of invoices for follow up, and to isolate invoices related to specific form types like renewals, applications and reinstatements.

New video! Refunding Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD) payments

Okay, we admit it, this last one isn’t an update to the software but we thought you’d want to know about it anyways. We’ve created a new training video for clients who offer their members pre-authorized debits (PADs). Well, that’s what we call it, though we’ve heard it called PAP (Pre-Authorized Payments) and a PPP (Pre-Authorized Payment Program). Regardless of what your oganizations may call it though, if you run one, you need to be able to refund those payments when members withdraw from your program. Alinity has always allowed you to do exactly that, but it might not have been clear as to how to do it efficiently. That’s why we put together a short 3 1/2 minute video on how to do it. Check it out in our Video Library, and if you don’t have access, you can sign up here!

Bug fixes and performance enhancements

Some updates fix big bugs that can impact your system. Others just tweak a few things in the background that don’t affect clients. This week’s falls into that latter group. Of course, if you happen to come across a big one, don’t hesitate to let our support team know!

Coming soon

We’re still working hard on putting together the rest of the Task Management module, but we’re also polishing up other features for future updates too. We’re going to be revamping the way Alinity generates form pdfs, which will make the system more responsive for administrators approving forms. In fact, the redesigned form generation process is going to eliminate the need for administrators to generate pdfs altogether; the task will be managed automatically by the system!

Well that’s everything for this week but as always, if you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to get in touch. We’d love to hear what you think.
