Microsoft Azure – We did it!
We are excited to say that we successfully transitioned all users onto the Azure platform on August 1st. Our first Azure test release was successful and our first production update in Azure is happening now. As a demonstration of the power of Azure we easily handled and processed over 200K web requests including images, forms, saving data etc. during a six hour period as a client opened up their renewal period.
As always, we will continue to upgrade Alinity with bug fixes and new features each month while the transition is moving forward.

New Features
Statistics API | Admin
Alinity now supports an API endpoint for current registration info. A pre-configured API key must be provided to Alinity to authenticate the request, which then returns to the caller the counts of how many members are in each register, broken down by section. This means that you now have the option to show macro statistics on your public website that are updated in real time.
New query: “By registration number” | Admin
Available on the Registration and Person search pages, this query allows you to directly input a comma-delimited list of registration numbers in order to return registrants. This can be very helpful if you need to grab a specific list of registrants and you know which numbers you need to search for all at once. For example, if you had a list of numbers in a spreadsheet, this could be a quick way to grab the data you need instead of entering the numbers one by one.
Feature Improvements
Dashboard statistics performance | Admin
The admin dashboard statistics that concern the counts of ongoing audits, profile updates, and all registration form types have been updated for performance to return results faster than before.
Person Groups for Announcements | Admin
Announcements previously were restricted to only the permissions available within Alinity. Typically, most announcements would go to all your members, but you were not able to go more granular. With this change, announcements are now attached to person groups to allow you to tailor announcements to specific people and/or members, and there are new smart group queries to replicate the old permissions like all members, all admins, etc.
Bug Fixes
GL Transactions | Accounting
We resolved a bug this month that impacted GL transactions for the specific scenario where tax was being charged and there was a refund or adjustment. The error could have caused incorrect GL postings in some specific cases, but did not impact invoices. Reposting your GL from the most recent date of reconciliation would resolve the issue if it applied to you.
Next release
The September 2023 release of Alinity is scheduled for deployment to production sites September 21st.
