The December 2022 release of Alinity was deployed to Test environments on December 8th and Production environments on December 15th. A summary of the changes included in this release appear below.
Alinity is Moving to Microsoft Azure – Almost There!
If you have been following our monthly blog posts, you will have seen our announcements about migrating Alinity to a new hosting platform. The new platform is Microsoft Azure© and we have been working with it in our development environment for all of 2022. We are excited about how well it is performing and the new features it will allow us to create in Alinity. We have decided to postpone our move to Azure until 2023 in order to allow renewal periods that are currently in progress, to be completed without interruption. Migration to Azure will begin on Test environments in the first quarter of 2023 and then for production systems starting in the second quarter. We will continue to upgrade Alinity with bug fixes and new features each month while the transition is moving forward.
Verification of the shared features of Alinity on each upgrade is taken care of by our development team. These are features appearing primarily in the Administrator Portal area of the system. Our team does not, however, verify the custom configured components on your Member Portal since requirements for these are often unique and cannot be addressed within the monthly upgrade period. Therefore, we recommend that you review and verify all member and public-facing features on your system before each upgrade. | Many clients have run into issues where an applicant has paid the invoice for their application and then printed it off to show their employer their registrant number before they’ve been approved. The number in these cases may not end up being the same as their official registrant number when they’re approved which causes a mismatch between the employers records and the college. The invoices will now only show proper registrant numbers and not the applicant number. | ||

| Members are now able to download a PDF of an unpaid invoice that they can provide to their employer as part of an expense claim. Unlike a paid invoice PDF this one will include a notification that it is unpaid. | ||

| For emails with a very large list of recipients you will often run into a small handful of errors for instance where the email address given by a member was incorrect and does not exist. When attempting to archive an email like this administrators would be blocked due to the error. Now you will be presented with a confirmation indicating the issue and allowing you to confirm that the archive should proceed. | ||

| When a member hadn’t completed their renewal in time they were still being shown a link in the renewal summary at the top of the portal to the invoice. Since members don’t have access to pay these invoices at that point they would receive an error. The button now no longer shows if the member is not allowed to pay the invoice. | ||

Next release
